May Update

Last weekend was more good times at the “Ho” (Second Wind Navajo). It was a small crowd on Friday, but we cut loose and had a blast. I guess everyone was resting up for Saturday as it was pretty packed all night. Our friends Leon and Mike were celebrating their birthday. Also Tony and Alli recently got engaged, so congratulations to you two kids. Spike from Children of the Grave made an appearance and played a couple of Black Sabbath songs on bass.

On 4/27/09 we competed in the Ultimate Music Challenge at Viejas. For a listing of the bands check out this page of our blog or www.ultimatemusicchallenge.com. We were fortunate enough to advance to the semi final round thanks to the great fan support. I never got the judges scores, but I have heard it was very close and fans probably were the deciding factor, so THANK YOU! For a review of the performance head over to the UMC blog at http://ultimatemusicchallenge3.wordpress.com/2009/04/27/week-2-april-26/ . Lots of people chime in with comments and it’s good reading.

Round 1 is complete, so we know who the competition is (see link above) and we’ve drawn the fourth time slot for the semi final which is on June 14th. This means we get to make the last impression which I think is a good thing. I hope we can get even more support this time. It can really make all the difference.

We recently were booked to play at 4th & B downtown San Diego. They have a new owner and are really promoting tribute bands. Sergio and Gavin headed down there a couple of weeks ago to check out Dust ‘n Bones, Dazed and Confused and OU812. The local NBC news was there doing a story and Gavin got interviewed. Check it out.

This weekend we head to Orange County to play at the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet. It’s a huge venue. I’m having a new batch of t-shirts made up for the occasion, so those will be available soon.
