Website Updates

I’ve been doing some updates on the website…

• New Gig Calendar - This will make it much easier for old Tom to keep it up to date.
• New Photo Gallery - This will also be much easier to add pictures. Please send me an email at tom@monstersofrockband.com if you have any I can add.
• Videos - Gavin likes to add them at another site called blip.tv which seems to work pretty well, so rather than duplicating his effort, I’ll just link to it. Here’s the link http://monstersofrock.blip.tv/
• User Login - I still think no one has left a damn comment on this blog since I started it, so I figure maybe I didn’t make it user friendly enough? So… I created a new page with simple instructions that I hope will be easy to follow. Click here.

Recent Jammage

A couple of weekends ago some of the boys from 619 and 5 Miles High came by the Navajo, so we had them sit in for a song.  Last week Gavin and I sat in with them for a bit as well - good times.

Coming Up

We’ve got several shows lined up starting in late January and we’ll continue to keep adding fresh material to the sets.

The Harp was cool in that it has open windows toward Newport Avenue. There’s pretty good night life down there with lots of bar hopping. The funky part is where the stage is located. It would be great if they centered the stage and had a house P.A. system. The owner and staff were really cool. They comped us many goodies!

Gavin acquired a new magic box for all of his effects. We’re hoping his amp will behave itself now. I got myself some new in ear monitors. If you’re a musician and have a hard time getting a good monitor mix, you’ve got to check these out http://www.ultimateears.com/_ultimateears/products/custom/ue11pro_description.php.

Ron did a couple of shows with his side projects. You know singers, they like a lot of attention (whatever Ron!). Dave recently had his amp tuned up and is set to shake the walls once again. Sergio has been busy doing a videography of Sarah Palin on the campaign trail. He says she’s very “Mavericky”.

Remember, Halloween is always best spent with Monsters.

Ultimate Music Challenge

On June 15th, 2008 Monsters of Rock performed at the Dreamcatcher Lounge at Viejas Casino for the Ultimate Music Challenge. I think the band is still in shock and awe at the response we got from the crowd and the reviews by the judges. We’re hoping you can join us at the semi final on July 20th.
